Certificate Distribution Ceremony


With the collaboration of the Salman Sufi Foundation, the Directorate of Student Affairs GCWUF organized the certificate distribution ceremony for the students, faculty, and women outside the university who received training in riding a motorcycle under the Interloop-sponsored Women on Wheels project. The certificate distribution ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli. The worthy Vice Chancellor expressed her gratitude to the Salman Sufi Foundation for rendering excellent training to the learners during their training camp. The training not only enabled the girls to ride a motorcycle but also inculcated in them courage and a sense of self-reliance. She was happy about the fact that now our students can avoid any nuisance in public convenience by further saying that this is a good initiative and it will be taken forward so that more and more female students can benefit from this training program and be empowered. Chief Traffic Officer Maqsood Ahmad Lone said that school and college students and working professionals are suffering from traffic problems. They have to depend on others to reach their destination. This training will make it easier for them to become self-reliant. He said that the training program of the Salman Sufi Foundation is a good initiative for the women of Faisalabad. It should continue to create a better society. He advised the drivers not to drive without a license, and that they should follow the traffic rules completely. He informed the audience about the initiation of the online system of application for driver's licenses. Chief Development Officer Salman Sufi Foundation Mohsin Salman Bhatti said that the Salman Sufi Foundation has provided bike riding training to thousands of women so far and it will continue. Miss Gul Naz, In-charge Protection Center, SHO Women Police Station Faisalabad said that the difficulty of riding a bike in Faisalabad has ended now. She advised the bikers to be vigilant towards all precautions before driving. She encouraged them to set good examples for all other girls through this training so that this trend continues. The Director of Student Affairs Dr. Asma Aziz delivered the vote of thanks. The ceremony ended with certificate distribution. The ceremony was attended by all coordinators, departmental heads, and students of the university. It is noteworthy that more than sixty percent of learners of this program are students and faculty members of Women University. A considerable number of female police also received this training.
